Blouberg Strand

Blouberg strand (Beach) lies on the west coast of Table Bay and with Table Mountain in the background, provides a wonderful view of the city, a picture perfect photo opportunity for any visitor.

The coast line plays an important role in South Africa's history, as it was here on Blouberg Hill that the second British occupation of the Cape started, when the British expedition forces won the battle against the Dutch East India forces. Ruins of this battle are visible to this day on Blouberg Hill.

The rolling dunes of the Blouberg Atlantic beach form part of the unique Cape floral kingdom, which is renowned worldwide for its diversity and richness of plant species.
