Thirty nine kilometers northwest of Savuti, in the furthest corner of the Chobe National Park lies the forgotten paradise of Linyanti. Secluded and uncrowded, this short strip of swampy river frontage is reminiscent of the Okavango's permanent waterways with papyrus-lined lagoons, reed-beds and a towering canopy of trees.
Access to this generally quieter camp, (as it is off the main tourist route), is via a rough and sandy road, as such this trip should only be attempted with a reliable 4 x 4. Once there visitors will find a camping ground which is set amongst tall riverside trees overlooking the perennial Linyanti River.
Wildlife is plentiful, especially in the dry winter months, as the majority of natural pans have dried up, and great concentrations of buffalo, zebra and elephant migrate along the river, with impala, giraffe and roan antelope being seen in the forests. The birdlife is diverse, if not overwhelming in its numbers. Water birds, including pelican, are common.
We look forward to showing you this remarkable area. We have our own 4 x 4, and will tailor make a trip to suit your requirements. For groups of more than four guests, we will use two vehicles as well as an accompanying 4 x 4 trailer.
