Located in the shadows of the dense bush valley veld of the Sundays River region of the Eastern Cape lies the Addo Elephant National Park. Here.It is here that he Sundays River has it's entrance at the mouth of the Indian Ocean and is tidal from the mouth for 17 kilometers. The river is well known for its excellent fishing and prolific bird-life.

The Sundays River Valley, and the Addo region is only an hours' drive from the wonderful beaches of the Sunshine Coast and the rich 1820 Settler history of Grahamstown.

Addo Elephant Park, is a sanctuary for a wide range of South African Wildlife. Here visitors are able to experience sounds and possible sightings of the Big 7. These include elephant, black rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, the great white shark and sperm whale. Nearby the Friendly City of Port Elizabeth is a must for any holiday maker.

Addo Elephant National Park is situated 72 kilometers by road from Port Elizabeth. Established in 1931 to save 11 Elephants from the brink of extinction, the reserve is now home to more than 350 elephants, 280 Cape Buffalo, black Rhino, a good range of Antelope species, a pride of lions as well as the rare flightless dung Beetle.

Furthermore Addo Elephant Elephant Park is a perfect destination for the adventurous outdoor and nature lover. Include is the proclamation of a 120 000 ha (296 500 acre) marine reserve that includes islands that are home to the world's largest breeding populations of Cape gannets and second largest breeding population of African penguins.The park, the third largest in South Africa, offers a wide range of game viewing and outdoor activities, which include horse-back and horse-riding, guided walking, hiking and 4x4 trails and a picnic area for day visitors.
